All I want for Christmas is… A MP signature on EDM 728

“The EDM offers an easy opportunity for MPs to give their full support to the Review and help secure the game’s future for generations”

Niall Couper, CEO, Fair Game

FAIR Game today delivered the perfect gift idea for Christmas: A MP signature on EDM 728.

The chairs of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Football, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Football Supporters and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women’s Football have put down an Early Day Motion (EDM) supporting the Review. An EDM gives MPs an opportunity to show their support for an issue. EDM 728 backs in full the recommendations of Tracey Crouch’s Fan-Led Review into the governance of football.

Niall Couper, CEO of Fair Game, said: “Football is at a crossroads. We are facing a choice between the path of gambling and self-interest that was the route cause of the collapse of Macclesfield and Bury, and has left Derby County tittering on the brink or financial sustainability, good governance and a game that respects its supporters.

“The choice now lies in the hands of our politicians. Tracey Crouch’s fan-led review has provided a solution that Fair Game fully endorses. But without cross-party political support the review risks being condemned to the dusty shelves below parliament.

“The EDM offers an easy opportunity for MPs to give their full support to the Review and help secure the game’s future for generations. So what better gift can you get than a commitment from your MP that they will sign the EDM?

“We ask everyone to put that on their Christmas list and maybe this year Santa can deliver the perfect gift for every football fan this year: A National Game we can all be proud of.”

Fair Game has developed a step-by-step guide on how to reach out to your MP and you can view that here.
