Fair Game to put football’s financial future under the spotlight with new discussion series
FAIR Game – a group of 34 value-driven football clubs – puts the future of football’s finances under the spotlight on Thursday 9 June from 6.30 to 7.45pm with the help of a stellar line-up of global football experts.
The virtual panel discussion will take place over Zoom and is free to attend. To register for the event click here.
The line-up includes:
Jason Stockwood, owner and chairman of Grimsby Town and Guardian columnist
Christina Philippou, Principal Lecturer on Sports Finance at Portsmouth University and Fair Game’s Director of Policy
Bart Huby, head of LCP’s Football Analytics team
Daniel Geey, sports lawyer, chairman of Football Aid and a member of the Editorial Board for LawinSport
Matt Slater from the Athletic will chair the session.
The panel is the first in a series of thought-provoking panel discussions showcasing a new solution to football: the Sustainability Index. The Index has four pillars: Financial Sustainability, Equality Standards, Good Governance, and Fan & Community Engagement.
Fair Game believes every professional club should be scored on the four pillars. The higher the club scores the more money it gets.
There are four panel discussions in the series. They will dissect a pillar of the Index one at a time. Each event will end with a series of questions from the floor. You can register for free for the panel discussion on financial sustainability here. A more comprehensive explanation of the Sustainability Index can be found here.
