Football Collective and Fair Game join forces in coordinate effort to fix football

FAIR GAME, a group of 34 professional football clubs seeking to improve the game’s ecosystem, today officially joined forces with the nation’s No 1 football academic membership body, the Football Collective.

The new partnership is a huge boost to both organisations’ aims to transform the future of football. It opens the door for football academics across the country to apply their work to help develop and implement realistic long-term solutions to the problems our National Game faces.

Paul Widdop, co-founder of the Football Collective, said:

The members of the Football Collective will be encouraged to work with Fair Game across the 16 research areas to help develop position papers, metrics and academic papers.

The Football Collective aims to showcase best practice and help share academic peer-reviewed research in an accessible and understandable format for all. This includes:

  • Sharing evidence-based commentary on football issues

  • Disseminating peer-reviewed research on football

  • Opening debate around key issues in related to football

  • Reaching wider audiences through diverse mediums such as articles, videos and podcasts.
